Our Track Record

Direct Investment & Development

In partnership with former colleagues, we sourced an off-market shopping center and adjacent undeveloped land in an affluent Utah suburb. Following acquisition, we led a multi-year planning and entitlement effort, including general plan and zoning amendments, to reposition the site as a boutique outdoor lifestyle center. We oversaw project underwriting, capital formation, design, GC negotiation, and leasing strategy—successfully preparing the asset for development while enhancing long-term value creation.

Strategic Partnership & Tenant Roll-Out

While serving in a previous leadership role, we identified a Utah-based boutique coworking brand seeking expansion into Southern California. We supported the acquisition and capitalization of an existing San Diego coworking operator and subsequently structured a 40,000 SF lease for the brand within an investment property in which we held an interest. The transaction delivered a strong leasing outcome in a challenging office market while positioning the operator for future regional growth.

Sale & 1031 Exchange Management

A client sought to sell a commercial property housing their operating business. We structured and negotiated the sale of the real estate independently from the operating business, opening the door to a successful 1031 exchange. Our team sourced and negotiated multiple replacement property options, leading the due diligence, financing, and closing process through to completion. The result was a fully deferred gain, improved post-sale cash flow, and a seamless experience driven by proactive communication and execution.

Daron Young

The name Örebro is a nod to the heritage of founding partner, Daron Young. With roots tracing back to Örebro, Sweden on both his mother’s and father’s side, Daron comes from a multigenerational legacy of entrepreneurship and real estate-driven investment. This lineage forms the foundation of Örebro Capital’s mission: to help families build, preserve, and transfer wealth through strategic real estate investment.

Daron Young is a real estate executive with 20 years of experience leading investments, development, and tax-advantaged strategies across all major asset classes. As CEO of a San Diego–based, real estate-focused family office from 2014 to 2025, he led the firm through a period of material growth—nearly tripling assets under management—while directing acquisitions, 1031 exchanges, and complex partnerships with sponsors, developers, investors, and lenders. During his tenure, he directed investment into over $1 billion of real estate investments spanning multifamily, retail, industrial, hospitality and self-storage, across a range of business plans from development and value-add to stabilized. Previously, he held roles at The Irvine Company and Ivory Homes. He holds a Bachelor’s in Finance from BYU and a Master’s in Real Estate Development (MRED) from the University of Southern California (USC).

Daron and his family have lived in and around Carlsbad for the last 11 years. He and his wife are the parents of one son and two daughters. He enjoys playing basketball and volleyball, and loves spending time snowboarding, surfing, waterskiing, hiking, camping, and traveling with family and friends.
